We think the Creston Valley is a very special place. Take a little time to explore this hidden gem of the Kootenays and we think you will agree.

Creston's agricultural heritage is evident in the many orchards, farms and vineyards that surround and link our community and give it its special character. The Creston Valley is wide, green, fertile and sunny!

We have plenty of wilderness too, sitting snuggly between the Selkirk and Purcell Mountain Ranges - not to mention the vast Kootenay lake right on our dorrstep.

There is so much to see and do in and around Creston, here is just a taster of what's available.

There are no end of enduring experiences to enjoy in the Creston Valley.

The Creston Valley Wildlife Management Area is a stunning 17,000 acre Ramsar designated wetland offering guided canoe and walking tours. With a visitor centre and over 32kms of trails and two viewing towers you have an excellent opportunity to view some of the 372 species of wildlife in the area.

The renowned Columbia Brewery, home of Kokanee beer, is situated right in Creston and offers tours where you can learn about the history and day to day operations that bring us the Kootenays favourite beer.

If your tastes lean more to the grape, why not stop by the Skimmerhorn vineyard - specialists in cool climate wines including Pinot Gris, Ortega, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Noir and Marechal Foch.

Creston makes a great stop on the International Selkirk Loop, marvel at the awesome beauty around every corner of the International Selkirk Loop, a 450 km / 280-mile scenic drive encircling the spectacular Selkirk Mountains in eastern Washington, northern Idaho and southeastern British Columbia.
